New Video Explains the Super Stars of Energy Efficiency: Air Sealing and Insulation

Air sealing and insulation are the celebrities of the high-performance home world (high-performance homes being those using fewer energy and water resources and/or clean energy). These icons steal the show to provide the simplest, quickest, and least expensive method to decrease energy loss in a home. We created a video to tell the story of these reliable, hardworking icons to let anyone looking to improve the comfort of their home and reduce their energy costs know exactly where to start.

We've been working for years to spread the word about high-performance homes and to ensure they are consistently and fairly valued when bought and sold. This lays the groundwork for a cycle in which homeowners are eager to invest in high-performance improvements because they know they will be able to recover some or all of their investment when they sell their home.

For more resources like this video, visit the Tools page in the Value for High-Performance Homes section of our website and help us spread the word on social media by using the hashtag #VisibleValue.

What’s more important, air sealing or insulation?

Air sealing and insulation are two of the best ways to make your home or business more comfortable, durable, and energy efficient.

The answer is clear, Air sealing always comes first.
