Need - Measuring and Tracking system for RH and Temps inside wall of New Home

Looking for some type of system that will track RH and Temps in the walls of a new construction single family home. It will be a double 2x4 wall, highly insulated. We want to be able to monitor any issues in the wall cavity and to collect data for research purposes. Needs to be a permanent system.

Anyone know of such a system.

TY to All!

Hello Daniel,

Check out the UltraAire Sentury.  It monitors both and connects to a WiFi network for remote monitoring ;-)

This looks very promising. Thank you!

Another less expensive option without wi-fi capability is the Hobo monitor by Onset. Data retrieval requires physically connecting the Hobo to a PC (or tablet?) to upload the log files.

Thanks for the response! I looked into this option.  WiFi, seems it will be just easier on the actual home owner and creates active transparency for our partners.

The Ultra Aire and Hobo monitors measure RH. It appears that the OP wants to measure Moisture Content (MC) in the middle of an insulated wall, where there is little or no air. That calls for a moisture meter. I have done such testing on exterior walls using a Delmhorst moisture meter with long insulated probes, and I know that such longer term monitoring has been done with dense-packed cellulose walls.

I might suggest contacting Building Science Corp. to see if they have a recommendation.

Thanks Brad, great suggestions. Walls r 8" blown fiberglass. BIB system. I could make a small pocket of air around a sensor with some thick screen? BSC great suggestion
