Hi all,

I am modelling a proposed new residence in HOT2000 to prove code compliance to our local jurisdiction. The building is three storeys with a slab-on-grade foundation, and the first storey is a garage. The living spaces are on the second and third floors. My question is, how should I model this in HOT2000? The garage is heated and the garage walls are insulated, and the floor between the first and second storeys (above the garage) is insulated, obviously. Does anyone know if I can model another insulated barrier in between the first and second storeys so that the model knows that all of the heat from the second and third storeys won't be lost through the overhead door? I believe the garage will use a separate heat source.

Thank you!

Kyla
