As my good friend Rana Belshe says.  Let's not forget that the people who live in houses are the ones who are in charge of how the house loses and gains energy and how the appliances and HVAC use energy.  People are the key and heart of gettin' it done!

We use the Coaching Model and have been teaching it at ACI since 2007.  It is:  Look.  See. Tell the Truth. Take Authentic Action.  This works beautifully as our business model.  Pure Energy coaches the future of the home improvement industry and our customers, with our grassroots approach to no-holds-barred audits, QA, training, coaching, and mentoring.

And the key is knowing how to listen to the homeowner and sell her the benefits of home performance contracting by adapting the pitch to the homeowner's pain.

I heard a contractor in Colorado speak about why his business model was successful. One key ingredient, his  sales force were women. Now there is a guy who has it right!

Yes, People have choices with their energy usage.  They can choose to conserve - wear the sweats and turn the thermostat down in the winter; they can choose efficiency and install more insulation or take another measure that causes things (the house) to work differently.

Both conservation and efficiency work - they both save energy.  The key is to get people living in the house to make a decision to do something.

The key is to present information that will help them make the decision.
