Building America Webinar: Opportunities in Large Data Collection and Analysis - April 16, 2014 at 3pm ET/1pm MT/12pm PT

The Building America Program is hosting a no-cost, webinar-based training on needs and opportunities for large data collection for energy efficiency projects. The webinar will focus on specific Building America projects that are looking to gather and analyze large bodies of data on new and existing homes, and will feature opportunities for industry to collaborate with researchers to gather and analyze valuable data.

Presenters and specific topics for this webinar will be:

  • Omari Faakye, CARB, presenting on Multifamily Blower Door Testing (guarded versus unguarded) with a focus on unique challenges in multifamily units.

  • Noel Merket, NREL, presenting on the Building America Field Data Repository (BAFDR) and the collection of home characteristics, utility bill data, and field testing data from Building America team projects and historical energy retrofit studies that have been compiled.

  • Cheryn Metzger and Chuck Booten, NREL, presenting on Indoor Temperature and Humidity Data) and NREL’s effort to lead data collection and analysis for more than 300 homes across the country in order to calculate statistically significant data for assigning temperature and humidity set points for asset rating of homes.
