FALL FAST TRACK to Revolutionize Home Performance Business, Rock the Houses on Sept 1 2014

You took a class, or read a book, got BPI or HERS Rater certified, or just bought some diagnostic equipment. Your company was heading in the right direction in the beginning, but NOW WHAT? Earning certifications and owning diagnostic tools is a step in the right direction, but it’s only a step… the real power of your home performance focus is in practicing what you preach with testing on every job, and using it to…

Hello Corbett,

The typical model for whole house performance contracting in California places the owner of the General B Contractor license in charge of project management. Does your company, and are you aware of other smaller companies, use a model that places the energy auditor-rater in the project manager position, much like an interior decorator will sell the job and design benefits, get the job, and then sub-contract his/her preferred tradespeople to complete the work to the high level of standard they envision? I am interested to find successful examples of small sized (1 - 3) energy professional diagnosticians that have  businesses that sell the assessment service and vision for improvements, and then hire and manage the entire whole house upgrade project.
