Excess parts - Who needs em?

The cylindrical gray device sitting on top of this geothermal heat pump is a liquid line refrigerant dryer shipped inside the unit. The instructions provide it is to be installed in the liquid refrigerant line to remove moisture and contaminants. I found it inside the unit still wrapped in plastic. Apparently the installer thought, he didn't need no stinking filter dryer. Now the homeowner has no warranty because the unit was not properly installed. It was also short some 6,000 BTUH, most likely a refrigerant issue. Notice the white horizontal tubing headed to the top of the water heater. This is a desuperheater line where PEX is not allowed. Of course there were no worries, because the desuperheater was NEVER TURNED ON. There were over 20 code violations in this 2 year old Energy Star home where the homeowner consistently complained about high bills. At least he got a 54 HERS Index.

I like to see 2 hot water heating tanks the 1st is for the desuper heater and 2nd is hooked up to power  with out 2 tanks there is not energy saving.

I like to see more support on all pipes just to much wiggle room to pinch pipe.

If you flush 3 times and super deep vack under 400 Microns but over 100 ( so not suck out oil)  some feel its not needed to put in a filter dryer,  The filter dryer lower the total EER a little bit.  I feel its worth the 2% just to keep the TXV clean and no call backs.
