Thanks Everblue,

I am proud to say that I have also recently achieved the NABCEP Certified PV Technical Sales Professional designation.

After the Installer test, the Sales Certification test was a breeze!

Congratulations Mark! The NABCEP PV Installer Certification Exam is very challenging. If anyone is interested in learning about classes that could help them prepare for it let me know.

Also, Has anyone heard any news or developments regarding the Bloombox technology that was developed a few years back? 60 Minutes did a piece on it and I haven't heard anything since...

Here is a link to the video on youtube talking about it for those who are interested or unfamiliar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRAh4YemS0k

SOLAR OR WHOLE HOUSE PERFORMANCE OR BOTH

If there is no significant air quality or comfort issues with the home, but the utility bill is painful high.  Then installing a solar electric system and some low cost energy improvements that are not part of the holistic whole house performance approach might make the most sense.  Evaluating and decreasing base load usage, changing out lights and then right sizing a solar electric system based on the decreased electric usage could be the satisfying answer the homeowner is looking for.  Then as it makes sense or desired, start upgrading appliances with energy efficient ones as they near the end of their service life.  Many homes currently upgrading with solar are doing so through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).  With a PPA there typically is a very small upfront payment and then just pay for the electricity as it is delivered as you do now with your utility.  So often for as little as a few thousand dollars you can have control over the future cost of electricity, improve your homes energy efficiency, go solar and establish a hedge against the escalation of electric costs.  Financing through traditional methods can create additional savings.

Cool Matt!

Maybe you could share a little about your system components?

What type of panels, Inverter, racking system, etc.?

Thanks for posting!

Oops, forgot to tag the picture. Picture of 11 KW installation I just completed on my training center in Syracuse. Install went smoothly, no drama. PV will provide approx 60% of power needs. cool beans...
