Rolled roofing is simply composition shingles just like used on homes, except they are 4 feet wide and various lengths.

Here is the process used when applying our RCC to mineral capsheet roofing.  This is a patio deck cover in Sacramento.  It was owned by Mr. Elmer Isaac.  He was a retired electrical engineering contractor.  He was 93 when we did this in 2003..

Thios was a rolledroofing (Mineral capsheet) roof.  We did this as a 1-ply roofing system using stitchbond polyester roofing cloth.  It was a fairly cool day which allowed us enough time to 'Fly in' the cloth.

The single ply system was not necessary on thius roof but the owner wanted it done like that.

What does this do for a roof as far as energy savings goes?  No matter what time of day, the coated roof will be within 3 to 5 degrees of whatever the ambient air temperature is at that moment.

Other benefits with this roof coated;

1.  NO FURTHER DECOMPOSITION of the roof from the suns rays.  The coating penetrates into the shingles past the granules and into the first layer of felt.  The granules are encapsulated.

2.  The coating locks down the shingles and they turn into one single ceramic tile.  No more shingles blowing up and off the roof anymore in high winds.

How strong is the bond?
