Like many, I’ve been struggling with the differences between what consumers say and what they actually do regarding energy conservation. I’ve seen years of consumer research regarding home buying behavior where respondents state that they want an energy efficient home and would pay more for it. Yet when you put something that would help in front of them, they don’t bite. 

 

So I got to thinking that maybe consumers need to know how electricity is made and what its environmental consequences are. I put together a slide show that I put into video format for youtube.com. It’s at

I haven’t done any promotion yet since I’d like to get some professional peer review. I ran it by some outside the energy field, and they liked and learned things from it that they just didn’t know about energy production.
