Job Overview:

The Program Consultant is the face of the program, responsible for helping manage a network of customers and contractors, including building and maintaining a pipeline of residential energy efficiency projects that will help our client to meet their savings goals. Similarly, you will work with internal management to lay out the strategy, to hit or exceed the residential energy efficiency goals set forth by our utility client. Those with prior experience in matters relating to residential energy efficiency will have the knowledge base to quickly understand the program goals, contractor training, program and measure tracking and have the ability to adjust day-to-day operations to stay on target.  This role is responsible for managing a variety of projects.

Responsibilities:

The Program Consultant supports and contributes to the overall energy-savings goals of our portfolio of energy-efficiency programs by performing the following essential duties:

  • Professionally represent energy-efficiency programs to third-party vendors and contractors.
  • Participate in outreach and promotion of the program at local outreach events.
  • Respond to contractor and participant calls answering questions about residential efficiency measures, equipment, and incentives.  Must be proactive in notifying contractors and participants of any program changes.
  • Coordinate with program managers and program staff on maintaining and updating program information in database.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff and external partners.
  • Coordinate with office personnel to ensure proper submission of paperwork and payment of incentives.
  • Maintain inventory controls for field installation supplies and equipment.
  • Perform field installation quality assurance and control efforts.
  • Continuously monitor program effectiveness, help develop and design effective program strategies, and implement improvement strategies as needed.
  • Create and conduct contractor trainings on the program requirements and use of energy modeling software.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm about working with a team.
  • Possess excellent internal written and verbal communication skills, and willingness, to be persistent with contractors and customers to drive energy efficiency projects to completion.
  • Have experience using MS Word and Excel.
  • Have BPI BA or RESNET Home Energy Rater certification plus a minimum of one year of experience doing blower door and duct blaster testing as well as being involved in the implementation of energy efficiency measures.
  • Have experience communicating with and presenting to HVAC and/or building performance contractors.
  • Have experience and proficiency in creating and presenting MS PowerPoint or Prezi presentations to groups.
  • Have excellent organizational skills.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • At least 4 years related work experience, preferred
  • Residential energy efficiency
  • Communicating with customers, contractors and clients
  • Management experience
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working with databases
  • BPI Building Analyst or RESNET Energy Rater certification
