Please don't make BA harder, you turn entry to building science from hiking a fairly steep path into scaling a cliff and you lose all but the rock climbers.  Ask too much and you seriously harm your market.

You put me in a really bad position.  I've recommended and driven a lot of people to take BA.  If you make it a super hard intro, I'll have to recommend AGAINST taking it.  Do you really want folks like me who tell people to take this class to start telling people to NOT take it?

BA, to me, is the entry.  It's the taste.  It's the hook.  Would you require 608 cert before taking BA?  Experience with gauges?  You can't have intro and PhD level be the same thing.  It's incredibly important to recognize modeling and design are talents to be nurtured, and it's great you are moving that way finally!  But making BA harder is NOT the answer.  These areas need their own courses.

This is a mountain to climb.  The most direct route is very steep and hard, with lots of risk of falling.  Shouldn't we have a safer easier, slower path?  As we've seen from the diploma mill fiasco, more and faster is not better.

We want people to start hiking the path, not walking away from the cliff face.
