Interesting question by Leanne Maxwell, former colleague at Home Energy:

"Aside from all of the obvious logistical issues of having a shower in your kitchen, what kind of IAQ nightmare does it present?"

Here's the kitchen in question:

Cool, I can start cooking dinner, hop in and take a shower while making sure that nothing is burning... Wow that is a wacky setup, but no more than normal would be my guess especially as most people never run their fans - the steam just got access to the larger rooms that much faster

With more and more builders in crowded, expensive-to-rent-in cities like New York creating mini-apartments in a factory and stacking them to make multifamily buildings, there will be a strong temptation to minimize space. The min-apartments I've read about are 200-300 sf. Here's a link to an interesting article with good pics:

I think my Dad grew up in Queens in the late 1920s and 30s in tenement buildings with a shared bathroom and bathtub in the kitchen...

I think this is in the wrong Forum, it belongs in Hall of Shame.  One the dumbest ones I've seen, and I've seen a bunch.  Assuming the range exhaust is 100 cfm or better (right!), it may not present a huge moisture issue if the exhaust is used properly, and if it works.  The fruits of being a rental hog, probably split one unit into two (or three.)  The toilet room looks like a converted closet.  I wonder what life safety issues are present.  The sad part is to think that someone will actually pay to live there.
