I voted, but the most important diagnostic tool in my bag has always been my IR camera. Part of what makes it valuable is the interpretation of what it sees. Where there are many new low cost IR cameras coming out, they lack the training and experience to really know what they are looking at. In addition to air leaks I frequently always find water leaks as well as heat signatures from things that should not be hot, like extension cords under a rug. Yikes!
Second in line would be my blower door and manometer. Maybe that is second and third.
Bud, Thanks for your comment. I revised the poll so you can select more than one answer to the poll and add another tool like manometer. :)
Blower door. Hands down.
Without my IR camera I can still get great results.
Without my blower door, my IR camera is near worthless (beyond being a sales gimmick. Gimmicks don't work well with our sales process because we heavily educate.)
Also, the blower door is a measurement tool. It illuminates AND quantifies the problem. The IR camera illuminates but does not quantify.
I agree with Ted. If I could bring just one piece of equipment it would be the blower door. It has the ability to run several meaningful diagnostic tests.
Blower door. It shows the invisible. IR a close second.
