If it doesn't seem obvious why a discussion of #MeToo is relevant for Home Energy Pros, then such a discussion is even more important. Our male-dominated industry is not immune. And we're hurting ourselves as a result.

My thoughts to start a discussion: http://omstout.com/what-metoo-means-to-me/

But discussion isn't enough. We need change and action.

Thank you for stepping forward to open this discussion.  While I have had plenty of instances of harassment and assault, I am grateful to report that none have ever happened to me while working in this profession.  That is not to let people off the hook who have done things they shouldn't have, but more likely a factor that I am now older, and not such an easy target as I was in my teens and 20s.

I appreciate the consciousness raising that you have started.  I hope it continues.

Here's an earlier HEP Forum discussion from 2014 on a similar topic: Let's Talk Gender

Thanks for bumping the earlier post up, Diane. It's been good to see more discussion of this over the past few years, iwth some explicit acknowledgement that there's an issue. Clearly there's still so much more to be done.
