This spring, BPI will introduce the Healthy Home Evaluator (HHE) credential, created in conjunction with the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI).

Building upon the BPI Building Analyst or Energy Auditor certifications, this credential verifies the competencies required to perform healthy home environmental risk assessments. Similar to an energy audit, a healthy home assessment analyzes home-based environmental health and safety hazards and provides a prioritized list of recommendations to address those hazards.

This is important news. At long last we have a credential to define the work done by on-the-ground professionals working at the juncture of health and home performance. Thanks to all the industry players who have being working in the trenches in recent years to make this happen.

We think this is so important that we're holding a webinar on this very topic next Wednesday March 23rd.

The experts will include Larry Zarker (BPI), Brad Turner (Southface Energy Institute), and Leif Magnuson (Pacific Gas and Electric).

Wanted to see the certification blueprint and job task analysis, as I was interested in this certification.  Where would I find it?

You'll find it in the future, possibly by June.  The press release

We are working on putting together a full exam blueprint and website with more information, but you can check out this job task analysis for the time being: We hope you'll consider taking the pilot exam!
